Pierce County Security’s commitment to employee training and development is unequaled in the contract security industry. Well-designed, professionally executed training programs help produce knowledgeable and motivated employees, which results in lower turnover, less absenteeism, and higher standards of performance than most of our competitors in the industry.
PCS’s training programs include:

- Security Officer Basic Training Course
- On-the-Job Training (OJT) for Security Officers specific to the site assigned
- Refresher Training and In-Service Training
- Specialized Training Workbooks for specific clients
- Supervision Workshop
- First Aid, CPR, and AED
All training conducted at our PCS office meets and exceeds Washington State licensing requirements and is conducted from one of PCS’s Staff of Certified Instructors.
PCS gives specialized classes that offer advanced certification in the security industry. PCS has certified Instructors and Proctors for certification from the International Foundation for Security Officers (IFPO) and the International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS). PCS Officers are given in-service training on a continuous basis from courses within the PCS library: de-escalation of force, diversity, etc.
For those Officers selected as Armed Officers, PCS offers all training and equipment necessary for certification. PCS exceeds State mandates by having Armed Officers pass courses in night shooting, decision making shoot/don’t shoot scenarios, and other advanced armed classes.
